Phra Methee Vajirodom (V. Vajirameethi) is a distinguished Buddhist thinker, writer, scholar, poet, and peace advocate who has devoted his life to promoting global peace and compassion. He has worked closely with the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).
In recognition of his sustained commitment to humanitarian service and peacebuilding, he was conferred the title “UNHCR Patron for Peace and Compassion” in 2018 (B.E. 2561) at UNHCR Headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland. He is the first Thai national, the first Asian, and the second person worldwide to receive this prestigious international honor.
Phra Methee Vajirodom is widely known in Thai society under the pen name “V. Vajirameethi,” derived from his monastic name Phra Maha Wuttichai Vajirameethi.

Phra Methee Vajirodom (V. Vajirameethi) was born on 29 January 1973 (B.E. 2516) in Ban Krueng Tai, Krueng Subdistrict, Chiang Khong District, Chiang Rai Province.
He was ordained as a Buddhist monk on 10 May 1994 (B.E. 2537) at Wat Krueng Tai, Chiang Rai Province.
He is currently affiliated with Wat Phra Singh (Royal Monastery), Mueang District, Chiang Rai Province, Thailand.
